Back Up and Repair Database

To backup and/or repair your database, select from the Main Menu->Tools->Database and Forms->Backup Compress and Repair Database

 

The screen on the right will appear.  Click the Start button.  A message box will appear telling you ContactTalk needs to be closed.  Click OK.

Another message box will appear asking you if you want to restart ContactTalk.

Just FYI: The ContactTalk database is a Jet 4.0 Microsoft Access database and the records are stored in a file called "Contacts.mdb" which is found under C:\\My Documents\ContactTalk\Databases.

The Action Items, My Table, Mail Maps, and Campaigns are stored under C:\\My Documents\ContactTalk\Databases\Static in a filed called "CMData.mdb".

The Forms and other Layouts you create such as Grid Layouts, Docking Layouts, CSV Import Maps are stored under C:\\Program Files\ContactTalk\Data\Layouts\User.
