Create SQL Action Item

To create an SQL Action Item, follow these eight simple steps:

Step 1: Follow the instructions for Creating a New Action Item and select SQL from the drop down list.

Step 2: The Build SQL Statement Dialog Box will appear.  Click on the Build SQL Wizard button identified in the picture to the right.

Step 3: The Build SQL Wizard will appear.  Select the Field to Set from the Drop Down List next to SET.

Step 4: Select from the Drop Down List next to the = equal sign or manually type in the Value. (NULL = zero or blank)

If you wish to select or enter additional Values, click the Add button underneath the top Value and go to Step 5.  Otherwise, skip to Step 6.

Step 5: Select the appropriate Conditional Operator from the Drop Down List and select or enter your additional Value in the box that was created.  Repeat if necessary.

Step 6: Select the Field or manually enter the appropriate Conditional Item (next to the WHERE). (NULL = zero or blank).

If you wish to select or enter additional Conditional Items, click the Add button and follow same procedures from Step 5.

Step 7: Click the Build Statement button.  The  results will appear in the Build Statement Result Box as shown on the right.  Click OK.

Step 8: The Build SQL Dialog Box will appear with the results of the statement filled in.  Rename the Action Item to whatever you wish and click OK.  Your Action Item is created.

This SQL Action Item will remain in the Action Item Templates Window forever unless you delete or change it.
