The Active Mailboxes window handles your inbound and outbound calls.  The calls are handled by the Mailboxes that you setup.  You setup your inbound voicemail messages via this window.

You should setup your outbound voice broadcast action items via Creating a  Voice Action Item.

As stated above, you can setup your inbound greeting messages within this window and also monitor outgoing Voice Action Items.

Important Note: It is important to understand that the Active Mailboxes window will display the progress of your active calls.  If outbound Voice Action Items are in progress, you will see the Mailbox structure for those calls.  If an inbound call is in progress, or if no calls are in progress, you will see the structure for inbound calls.

To open the Active Mailboxes window, from the Main Menu, select View->Active Mailboxes.

Mailboxes Properties

All Mailboxes contain a message that is played when the caller enters the top Mailbox.  After the message is played you can optionally take another message, hang up, wait for the caller to press a key, etc... (just to name a few).

You can create informational trees where a caller has the option to press 1 for this, or 2 for that, etc....  Mailboxes can also be enabled to handle voice recognition where callers can control and interact with information contained in the contact table.
